About Khiro Vallery Trek - Eden of The Himalayas

The Khiro Valley Trek is a majestic trek in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. It is an amazing trek that takes you on the journey beside the Alaknanda River. The Khiro Valley is a gorgeous valley that is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Here you get a chance to explore the entire Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve depending on the schedule you have and the number of spare days

Day 1 : Rishikesh to Joshimath

Travel till Joshimath from Rishikesh an 8 to 9-hour drive it is.

Day 2 : Joshimath to Khiro Village

From Joshimath to Badrinath, the trek begins at the crossroads of Kheer Ganga and Alaknanda River. After 2km you will the tiny hamlet of Khiro. This place is populated for only 5 months every year. While traveling in the village you will find an ancient and beautiful Devi Temple. People from all the villages organize a 2-day celebration on the full moon during the month of September and celebrate Lord Krishna during Poornima. Stay at the Khiro village and explore the culture of the natives of this place and visit the very famous Devi temple located here.

Day 3 : Khiro Village to Khiro Valley

The Khiro Valley is 2 km from the Devi Temple in the Khiro Village. It is a wonderful valley which is great for sightseeing. It is covered with flowers and Ayurvedic Medicine Plants. The beauty of this place will entice you totally.

Day 4 : Sightseeing at the Khiro Valley

Explore the Khiro Valley thoroughly enjoy the time and stay there overnight.

Day 5 : Back to Joshimath or trek to Badrinath

You can go back to Joshimath or trek to Badrinath as you like. Both these places are accessible easily from The Khiro Valley.

How to Reach Khiro Valley Trek

At first you have to reach Rishikesh, after that we will take care of your further travel plan.

Options to reach Rishikesh:

Rishikesh to Rudraprayag, Pipalkoti then to Helang. A bus start from Rishikesh bus stand sharp at 5 AM and reach Helang around 3.30 PM. You can book your advance ticket from Rishikesh bus stand. Helang to Urgam share car service available @ Rs. 40/- per head. Then it is an about half an hour trek from Urgam to Devagram. From Devagram it is around 45-mintue stroll to Kalpeshwar Temple.

1What about the weather conditions in the mountain region?

Weather in mountains is completely unpredictable and hence one must remain prepared for all of its kind. Usually, nights are cold in comparison to days and hence travelers are suggested to take their extra warm clothes with them. Also, it depends on seasons too.

2 Are mobile networks affected during the trek?

It totally depends upon the kind of place you are at. In the intensely remote areas, you may not find networks or interrupted networks but in most of the areas, networks are available.
